Warrior Women

My vision, through Warrior Women, is to use my life experience, talents and abilities to empower women
(and individuals identifying as female) of all ages to rise up, challenge the world and “be the change.”

Warrior women are moving to the forefront of our culture and our society.  The patriarchal energy that has controlled all aspects of our culture, nation and world for so many years is starting to break down and the women are stepping up and will take on the challenge of changing and rebuilding.

Woman are the change-makers and the makers.

I choose to rise up, challenge, and “be the change” and
to assist others in their own journey as warrior women.

What is a Warrior Woman

A warrior woman defends core feminine values.

She stands up in defense of the rights of others (especially children), leads humanitarian efforts, heads up non-profit organizations working for justice, is instrumental in peace missions and negotiations, or stands as a protector of many causes, including the environment.

Whatever her role, she achieves greatness by standing her ground, using her voice, offering her opinions and, with a determined and unwavering spirit, taking action and pushing for change.

Warrior women possess as much strength, determination and fortitude as any man.  They are willing to take up arms and fight for a cause with relentless perseverance.

Bravery is second nature to a warrior woman.

Women have been degraded, usurped, stripped of power and rendered invisible and silent for centuries.  Their accomplishments have been removed from history by
the men who authored the books.

While others may continue to perpetuate the attitudes of the status quo, a warrior woman forges a difficult path, challenging cultural views and all that stand in her way.

When the force of her will is aligned with her spiritual creative power, she is an unstoppable instrument of grace, courage,
social justice and change.

Warrior Women Rising
is my project focused on bringing awareness to the spirit of Warrior Women and empowering women to rise up and celebrate their own inner warrior.
The individual aspects of the project will include and perhaps not be limited to:

  • Collections of attire will be created honoring women warriors throughout history, who through their courage and commitment “made a difference.”  I will bring my own interpretation into contemporary wearable art clothing using refashioned up-cycled natural materials and embellished with traditional hand-created symbols and materials from the culture of the woman represented.

  • The story of each of the warrior women will be researched, documented and be part of the presentation of the collection.
  • Working collaborations with be established with artists and artisans, within my extended network, in the following art fields; performance, visual, and literary, with a focus on those artists whose creative expression are unique.  The purpose of these collaborations is very flexible and meant to allow the format, reach and participation of/and in the project to be free flowing and open hearted.

  • Workshop: a multi-session program giving women (and individuals identifying as women) the opportunity to identify, connect with and explore the archetype of their inner warrior woman.
